If you are a fan of the Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro starrer The Intern  you're in for a surprise.

Warner Bros., Azure Entertainment and Ka Productions are teaming together to bring a Bollywood version of the 2015 hit, with Deepika Padukone and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor in the starring roles, reported Variety.

Taking to Twitter to break the news, Deepika made an excited announcement saying, "Thrilled to present my next! The Indian adaptation of #TheIntern. A 2021 release!"

Padukone launched Ka Productions with her debut project titled Chhapaak which explored the story of an acid attack survivor. Her next being such a stark difference from the first wasn't just a coincidence. "I have been looking for a light, breezy comedy-drama and this story fits in seamlessly," said Padukone.

Talking about his involvement in the project, Kapoor said, "The Intern is a very relevant film for the present-day Indian workplace milieu and it showcases human relationships beautifully."

The managing director Warner Bros. India also chimed in with the same sentiment saying, "The Intern has been at the top of our list for potential adaptations and this is an enviable talent packaging for the adaptation."

The film is currently untitled and a director to helm the film will be announced soon. It can be expected to release in 2021.
