Slow pace of work in Gwadar irks MPs

Underline the need for accelerating the pace of work for completing the projects in time

QUETTA: A parliamentary panel has expressed its dissatisfaction over the progress of the ongoing development projects launched under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Gwadar and other areas.

The Parliamentary Committee on CPEC met with MNA Arbab Sher Ali in the chair. The participants of the meeting expressed their dissatisfaction over the pace of work and the performance of the institutions concerned.

They underlined the need for accelerating the pace of work for completing the projects in time.

MNA Muhammad Aslam Bhootani, who invited the committee to visit the area to review the development projects, security situation and other affairs, informed the participants that Gwadar port could not become fully functional until the completion of the CPEC projects.

He expressed his reservations about the delay in completion of the CPEC projects.
