The trend of using social media is changing the socio-cultural dynamics

TURBAT: Social media has control over numerous social, political and economic factors all around the world. From Twitter to Facebook and from Instagram to Youtube, different types of social media platforms are responsible for at least one kind of a change. However, with the passage of time the role of social media has changed. One common example is of the emerging social media site called as Tiktok. This social media is currently famous in Pakistan only because of the scandals of a federal minister with Hareem Shah and Sundas Katak. It may seem as something minor, but the fact this trend of using social media is changing the socio-cultural dynamics. As a result, negative changes further tear the social fabric of Pakistan. It is therefore necessary for society to understand that freedom is fine as far as it does not hurt the sentiments of others. When the sentiments of others are hurt, it does not fall into the category of freedom. Thus the role of social media has turned from something positive to something that is more dangerous in the Pakistani society and something needs to be done about it.
