KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM's) former MNA Nisar Ahmed Panwhar was arrested by law enforcement agencies (LEAs) during a raid at his house on Tuesday at 3am. The raid was carried out by LEA officials dressed in plain clothes.

Reportedly, the former MNA was arrested due to his alleged involvement in anti-state activities. He had recently attended a nationalist party rally in interior of Sindh where he represented the founder of MQM and kept on shouting anti-state slogans, it was reported.

Meanwhile, MQM-Pakistan  spokesperson has claimed that Panhwar and other party members have not been in contact for several years and Panhwar alone is responsible for accusations levelled against him.

Panhwar's son, Mohsin Panhwar, has shared a video of his father's alleged arrest on his Twitter account and has appealed to relevant authorities to take notice of the issue.
