MIRPUR:

Speakers at a conference held to mark Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan Day on Tuesday reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue struggle for the freedom of Indian Kashmir from the Indian yoke.

A large number of social and political workers, journalists, lawyers, members of business community and employees of private and government institutions attended the ceremony, which was organised by the National Events Organizing Committee (NEOC) at its conference hall on Tuesday.

The speakers condemned the increasing human rights abuses of the Kashmiri people at the hands of Indian forces and called upon the international community to take immediate notice of the fast deteriorating situation.

They hoped that the two-day India-Pakistan foreign ministers’ talks in New Delhi on July 26 will prove effective towards reaching a settlement of the much-awaited peaceful settlement of Kashmir.

The ceremony was addressed by NEOC Chairman Muhammad Tayyeb Chaudhry, Vice Chairman Amjad Chaudhry, Secretary General Altaf Hamid Rao, Chairman Jammu Kashmir Human Rights Commission Humayoon Zaman Mirza
and several other senior leaders of various classes of civil society.
