Funds transfer

If the federation cut the funds, it would cripple the functioning of provinces and the result would be political chaos

HYDERABAD: Major transfers of funds from provincial consolidated funds to the federal consolidated funds could be seen in the next few weeks. The reason behind the funds transfer is still not unveiled. Whatever the reason, the country will face numerous consequences as result. First and foremost, it’s against the system in which the foundation of the country has been constructed. A federation is assumed to be a benediction for its federating units by helping financially, ideologically and constitutionally for the sake of national cohesion and socio-political stability. If the federation cut the funds, it would cripple the functioning of provinces; and the result would be political chaos. Moreover, transparency is a crucial prerequisite of good governance, but here the ambiguity could be seen throughout the governmental and policy making processes. Most likely, it will alienate the populace from the government. Lastly, accumulation of gigantic funds in the federal government is unjustifiable, because it is not defined in any democratic constitution of the world. Since governments are elected for the welfare of the people, the government must have conscience enough to understand the vox populi.
