Protection of  women, children rights stressed

IG prisons said capacity building and providing them with best skills will significantly increase their performance

QUETTA: Balochistan Inspector General Prisons (IGP) Malik Mohammad Yousaf has said that every possible measure is being taken to protect the rights of women and children in the prisons, providing training to the jail staff will eliminate the negative impression in the prisons.

IG prisons said the capacity building and providing them with the best skills will significantly increase their performance and raise their morale.

While addressing ending ceremony of a two-day workshop on the rights of the women and children, Malik Mohammad Yousaf said that training enables any person to deal with the stressful and emergency situations. The officers after dealing with any stress in the prison and emergency can give better results.

Project Adviser Dr Rania Ahsan, Associate Adviser Ghulam Sarwar Barohi, Prof Dr Muhammad Azam Tahir, Dr Hussain Ara Magsi and other officers were present on the occasion.

Project Adviser Rania Ehsan said that behavior of the jail staff remains most important in jails. “If officers treat prisoners better, their issues can be resolved.”
