‘Govt, CPEC authority to work for health facilities’

A mother & child hospital, nursing college may be developed alongside CPEC

LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid assured full support for health facilities and services for the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC). The Minister met Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa at her office in People’s Block, Civil Secretariat, on Friday.

The Lt-Gen proposed that a mother & child hospital, as well as one nursing college, may be developed alongside CPEC in the province.

The provincial minister said that the department will work closely with the CPEC authority especially for projects in cities around CPEC routes in Punjab. She added that location reviews may be made in future meetings.

The provincial minister nominated Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Special Secretary Ajmal Bhatti as the focal person for coordination with the CPEC authority.
