Three killed over property dispute in Faisalabad

A scuffle started between the two parties after which the girl's brothers opened fire

FAISALABAD: Three men were gunned down over a property dispute on Thursday.

Police said Naveed Bashir was married to Anaya Naveed, sister of Ahsan Shahid. Anaya had been having a row with her husband who insisted her to have the property of her father transferred in her name.

On Tuesday night, she called brothers of her husband Shaikh Rasheed, Shaikh Naveed, Shaikh Jamil, and Shaikh Javed at her home and later called her own brothers Ahsan Shahid and Faizan Shahid.

Domestic dispute claims two lives

A scuffle started between the two parties after which her brothers opened fire. As a result, all of her four brothers-in-law sustained injuries and were shifted to a local hospital. One of the assailants, Ahsan also sustained bullet injuries during the firing incident. He was taken into police custody along with his wife.

Bodies of the deceased were sent on a post-mortem after which they were handed over to their heirs.

A case was registered against eight suspects including Anaya and her three brothers upon a complaint filed by Faisal Jamil, nephew of the deceased. Further investigation is underway.
