E&T impounds 66 vehicles for token tax default in Rawalpindi

Other vehicles also lacked proper registration documents

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Excise and Taxation (E&T) department has impounded as many as 66 vehicles and issued around 409 tickets in an operation against token tax defaulters and unregistered vehicles in the city.

Most of the vehicles were impounded because their owners had defaulted on paying its token tax, while others lacked proper registration documents. The special operation was launched on the directives of E&T Director Chaudhary Sohail Arshad.

According to an E&T spokesperson, four teams under the supervision of motor vehicle registration authority-I Malik Amjad Ali Awan and Motor vehicle registration authority-II Sohail Sabir were constituted in this regard.

The crackdown against defaulters was conducted in different areas of the city, including Civil Lines, Rawalpindi city and cantonment areas.
