Two killed, 7 injured in road accidents
The injured include a traffic police official who sustained injuries on face and head
KARACHI:
Two persons were killed and seven others injured in separate road accidents in the metropolis on Thursday.
Two men, riding a motorcycle, sustained severe injuries after they were reportedly hit by a speeding water tanker on Khayaban-e-Rahat in Defence Housing Authority, Phase VI. The injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where one of them died during treatment, police said. The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Salman, son of Ameer Bux. The identity of the other victim, who is unconscious and being treated at the hospital, is yet to be determined.
A muharrar at Darakhshan Police Station told The Express Tribune that the tanker’s driver has been detained and the vehicle has been taken into custody by the police.

Later, when contacted, the duty officer, Sub-Inspector Mir Hasan, held the persons riding the motorcycle responsible for the accident.
“The water tanker was parked and hit by the speeding motorcycle,” he said, adding that the truck’s driver was not inside the vehicle when the accident took place.
Separately, a person was killed and two others were injured in a road accident near the toll plaza on Super Highway.
According to rescue workers, the accident took place when a car collided with a motorcycle. As a result, Muhammad Saleem, 30, who was riding the motorcycle, died on the spot. Meanwhile, two brothers travelling in the car, identified as Salman, 22, and Akram, 20, suffered injuries.

The injured and the deceased were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. According to Gadap Police, investigation of the incident is underway.
In a separate road accident near Kala Pul, DHA, a traffic police official, identified as 25-year-old Asim, sustained injuries on face and head.
Meanwhile, 65-year-old Ghulam Ali was run over by a speeding vehicle in Shershah. He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.
Two women were also injured when a speeding vehicle ran them over. The injured, identified as Saba, 28, and Urooj, 25, were reportedly going to Shershah. The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
