Poverty in Pakistan

Letter January 10, 2020
Poor will always remain at a disadvantage because they always live a dependent life and their children inherit nothing

KECH: Pakistan is one of many countries in the world that is still suffering greatly from poverty. Simply, poverty points to a situation when people’s basic needs are not fulfilled, when people cannot have the necessary food to eat and clothes to wear or shelter to stay. It is an extremely deplorable condition to live in especially during the era of climate change with intense heat and extreme cold. People do not get proper education which leads to poverty. However, people are poor because they cannot afford education, not because they are illiterate. Illiteracy and poverty work hand in hand. They both are the causes and effects of each other. Due to them, people are seeing the negative aspects of life.

Poor people always depend on others to survive. They mostly beg to support themselves and as a result it becomes their profession. People have less liberty for the choice of life they live as all the best resources are secured by the rich and powerful.

The poor will always remain at a disadvantage because they always live a dependent life and their children inherit nothing, while the rich kids are born with a golden spoon in their mouth. Eventually, it is the responsibility of the government to take more steps towards charity and fulfil their basic needs in order to alleviate poverty in the country.
