QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani on Wednesday vowed to initiate development in all districts of the province, terming them equally important for progress.

In a policy statement released the chief minister said fixity of all development schemes is being implemented on priority to uplift economic development in Balochistan.

“Tarnished uplift schemes pushed Balochistan behind due to lack of policies but in last 16 months development was noticeable on ground,” Kamal said.

Responding to criticism against his government and allegations being framed upon him, Kamal said the unprecedented development in Balochistan is ‘pestering some individuals’ who remained fond of collecting commissions and worked as agents for transfer/posting.

“We have shut all doors of political blackmailing and political pressure on the government affairs and it has enhanced our opponents’ woes, hence they have resorted to splashing baseless allegations on the provincial regime,” Kamal said, claiming that the accusers are afraid of CMIT’s investigation.

He added that fortunately all secretaries, commissioners, deputy commissioner and superintendents of the police are working in a free environment without any political pressure.

“Government of Balochistan is fulfiling its responsibilities with complete honesty to implement new legislation, development schemes and good governance [in the province],” the chief minister said, adding that flaws created and left unattended by the previous regimes are being removed through effective policies of the provincial government.

Kamal reiterated his resolve to continue efforts towards provincial economic and social development.

Health policies

Chairing a meeting to review various development schemes of health department, Kamal stressed upon the revision of past health policies, saying that implementation on them is impossible for the current government.

“Health affairs need to be considered in broader view while future decisions should be taken by keeping in view the current challenges of the health sector,” said Kamal while chairing a meeting the other day.

Provincial Minister for Finance Zahoor Buledi, secretary health, secretary C&W, secretary finance and other government officials were present in the meeting.

The meeting also reviewed smart designing for Quetta Dental College and land allotment issues for Khuzdar, Turbat and Loralai medical colleges.
