State bank: Anwar takes over as acting governor

ISLAMABAD: Yaseen Anwar took over as acting governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday following the acceptance of the resignation of former governor Shahid H Kardar, a press release of the central bank said. Anwar had also been acting governor before, from June 3 to September 8, 2010 after the resignation of the former governor, Syed Salim Raza. Anwar has worked with JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Merrill Lynch. He was the founder and President of the Pakistan Bankers Association, UK. He was also a member of the Arab Bankers Association, UK.

And since when is being a member of the Arab Bankers Association UK a qualification?!

Know-it-all | 12 years ago | Reply Incorrect: Yaseen Anwar was not the founder of the Pakistani Bankers' Association. The Association was founded in 1996 by 7 bankers namely: Aamir Riaz Taj Ahmad Anwar Zaidi Adnan Aziz Ahmed Yaseen Anwar Ahmad Salam Jahangir Masud Adnan Aziz Ahmed was the President of the Association.
