Women empowerment

Pakistan has been lowly placed by different international watchdogs on freedom and empowerment of woman

JAMSHORO: Women are a part of every society and play important social roles such as being a mother, a sister, a wife or a daughter. They work hard day and night to help a man lead his life and achieve his goals. Contrary to this, man has unfortunately often suppressed and oppressed woman. They frequently deny them their basic rights, which are rendered to them in Islam. However, despite being a Muslim country, Pakistan has been lowly placed among countries in the world by different international watchdogs on freedom and empowerment of woman. There are various forms of discrimination against women in Pakistan. Illiteracy and lack of awareness also lead to women being treated badly without them even knowing it.

The empowerment of woman in Pakistan can be achieved by ensuring all basic rights to them, equal economic, social, and political rights. And, they should be free to choose their life partner, to seek jobs and inheritance according to tenets of religion. There are many laws regarding women’s empowerment in Pakistan but the lack of implementation prevents the progress of women in all spheres of life. I hope the incumbent government will improve the status of women in Pakistan.
