“We are warning India that we are ready for any kind of aggression,” Ghani said.
Addressing a seminar at the Ayub Medical College arranged by the district administration to show solidarity with people of Kashmir on January 5, the day of passing of resolution by the UN for the right to self-determination, he said 2020 could be the year of independence of Kashmir.
Ghani said the Pakistani nation demands the implementation of UN resolution on Kashmir in full spirit.
The K-P assembly speaker said the world community should come forward to force India to stop brutalities in the held Kashmir and also raise the voice against the new anti-Muslim legislation done by the Modi government to amend citizenship rights.
He said the international community should know the sensitivity of the matter and it is the need of the hour that Kashmiri people are given their rights promised in the light of the UN resolutions. The UN should cancel the membership of India for not holding plebiscite in Kashmir, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, the Hazara division Commissioner Zaheer ul islam said reiterated the unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support of the people and government of Pakistan to the just struggle of Kashmiri people to safeguard their fundamental rights including their right to self-determination
Other speakers on the occasion said that Delhi is using rape, pellet-guns, and mass burials to suppress ingenious freedom struggle of the people of Kashmir against India occupation. They demanded of the UN to live up with its promise and resolve the Kashmir dispute as per aspirations of the people of Kashmir. The speakers expressed concerns over the siege of eight million Kashmiri’s since August 5 last year.
A walk was also held after the seminar.
Reforming institution
Separately, speaking at the inauguration of the Bachelor of Study (BS) Block of the Mansehra Post-Graduate College, the K-P assembly speaker Ghani said that Imran Khan’s vision was to place an honest and competent head of the institution to improve the working of the organisation.
He said PTI had introduced proper mechanism and system to various public institutions, due to which people of K-P reposed confidence in the party for the second time.
“PTI government by introducing the BS programme has allowed students to show their talent”, the speaker said adding, “Publication of the BS students’ research work in the international journals was a matter of pride for all of us.”
Ghani said the provincial government was focusing on areas which were neglected in the past and specially the Hazara division.
Ghani said that PM Khan believes in equality, therefore, every district was getting funds. “If it was not PTI government, such a huge amount would not have been approved for Mansehra,” he added.
On the occasion, he also announced a bus for students of the Buffa Pakhal College and a grant of Rs0.5 million for holding of the social sciences conference. MPA Babar Saleem Swati and Deputy Director Munir Swati were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
