Review: Realme XT, a mid-range smartphone you won't regret buying

In the year 2019, smartphone giants battled it out to launch devices that would grab consumer attention by reintroducing old favourites such as foldable devices as well as adding and upgrading features.

Kicking off 2020, we review Realme XT in pearl white. This latest addition to the smartphone industry is a mid-range phone that captivates user attention with its reflective design and a fast processor.

Realme XT comes in two colors, pearl white and pearl blue which have a reflective glossy finish and a 3D curved design that enhances the beauty of the device.

Despite the sleek design, the non-conventional reflective aspect can also put some people off.

The device weighs about 183g (with battery) and 158.7mm x 75.2mm x 8.6mm in thickness which makes the smartphone quite sturdy and heavy.

The device is equipped with a 6.4-inch (16.2cm) dew-drop touchscreen display with 1080x2340 pixels resolution that is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 screen, designed to resist damage.

The only drawback is that there is a slight bump to the device due to the camera placement.

Realme smartphones are known for their great camera quality and the XT is no exception, equipped with 64MP AI Quad Camera with Ultra Wide-angle and Macro Lens the device promises to deliver incredible imagery.

The smartphone is equipped with four Rear Cameras 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor, 8MP Ultra-wide camera (119 degrees)2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor and 16MP front camera.

The camera performs well just like the company's previous devices but at this price, the camera quality could have been much better.

The Realme XT is equipped with Snapdragon 712 that enables the device to perform faster, better manage battery usage, auto-adjust images and respond quickly to voice cues.

While reviewing any device the most important thing to test is its battery life and Realme XT has got you covered.

The device is equipped with a 4000mAh battery pack battery, the smartphone was used the whole day to cover an event which required constant clicking of photos and voice recording.

The battery lasted throughout despite charging the phone for only an hour thanks to the VOCC flash charging.

Therefore, we can say the battery life on this phone performs well and won’t disappoint its user.

Realme XT comes with 64GB/128GB storage which is enough to install all your favourite apps.


Hardware

The device is equipped with Dolby Atmos, there is less sound distortion so you can enjoy music and conversation without poor sound quality.

Fast Facial recognition and In-Display Fingerprint 0.34 second instant unlock, great quality zoom in and quick touch response further add to the high performance of the device.

Verdict

Priced at Rs 54,999, Realme XT is a unique looking phone with good battery life, fast processor and decent camera quality.
