Balochistan CM, AJK president vow to highlight Kashmiris’ plight

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal and Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan have vowed to highlight the anti-Muslim face of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raise the Kashmir issue at local and international forums.

The AJK president called on the Balochistan chief minister in Quetta and discussed the atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and India’s controversial anti-Muslim citizenship law.

They observed that the citizenship law had exposed Modi’s vicious mindset against minorities particularly against India’s Muslim population.

Kamal described Modi as the Hitler of the 21st century. “Being Pakistanis, it is our moral duty to continue supporting Kashmiris,” he added. “The Pakistani nation stands by its Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will continue to do so.

The AJK president said Indian citizens from Assam to Punjab were protesting against the Indian government’s controversial law and dozens had been killed in protests.

“Apart from the internal unrest in India, the Indian army has also intensified its brutalities against innocent Kashmiri Muslims in Occupied Kashmir,” he added.

“The world has seen the brutal face of India and its Prime Minister Modi.”

The Balochistan CM informed the AJP president about his government’s policies and steps for development in the province.

“An economically strong Pakistan will be beneficial for Kashmiris as well,” Kamal said.

The AJK president invited the Balochistan government to work together with the AJK government in the fields of industry, economy and small and medium enterprises.

“We must utilise each other’s expertise in relevant fields especially in the minerals and extractions industry,” he said.

Provincial Finance Minister Zahoor Buledi, Food Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Kethran and Adviser to the CM on Sports and Culture Abdul Khaliq Hazara were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at a separate event, Kamal said the people of the province would witness a developed Balochistan in the next five years, adding that the government was focusing on the development of the agricultural, mineral, energy and tourism sectors.

He shared these views while addressing a laptop distribution ceremony held at the CM Secretariat attended by students from Khaonzai, Zhob, Quetta, Mastung and Qilla Saifullah. The students were provided with laptops under an initiative launched by the chief minister.

“Our youth should enhance their capabilities in the IT sector to compete in the modern world,” he advised students.

Kamal also said students should not compromise over their right to quality education.

He stressed the need for girls’ education in the province. “Families having educated women are more prosperous in today’s world,” he said.

“Unfortunately, our youth believe that they have succeeded by landing government jobs, but they can get more benefits from the province’s natural resources by using their expertise in various sectors.”

The CM briefed the students about the government policies for the development of the livestock, agricultural, mineral, fisheries and tourism sectors.

“The government is working to develop the province using its own resources.”

Kamal said the youth should question their elected representatives regarding development schemes in their districts.

He announced that the government had decided to establish degree colleges to ensure quality educational services rather than building inter-colleges while high schools would be upgraded to higher education colleges.

The CM urged the students to learn international languages including German, Chinese and English.
