ISLAMABAD: Vietnamese firm Phat Mechanical Manufacturing Company (Cophaco) has expressed willingness to import light fans from Pakistan for their supply in the local market following increased demand for luxury light fans primarily in resorts and hotels in Vietnam.

The firm is one of the most prominent manufacturers of electric fans in Vietnam and exports its products to the US, Thailand and South Korea.

According to Pakistan Electric Fan Manufacturers Association, Cophaco intends to import light fans from Pakistan to meet demand in the Vietnamese market.

The Engineering Development Board (EDB), along with the Ministry of Industries and Production, formed a nine-member trade delegation comprising executives from Pakistan’s electric fan industry for a visit to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from December 18 to 25, 2019.

The prime objective of the trip was to hold business-to-business meetings with Vietnamese counterparts and to explore opportunities of enhancing fan exports.

Delegates held productive meetings with different companies including Cophaco, which was eager to begin fan imports from Pakistan.

The trade delegation also visited Caribbean Motor Manufacturing Factory. On its visit to Nghe Nang Company’s industrial fan manufacturing factory, the delegation interacted with company Director General Luu Tri and highlighted the potential of Pakistan’s engineering goods.

In a bid to explore further possibilities of fan exports to Vietnam, the trade delegation visited the Vietbuild-29 Industrial Exhibition, held in Ho Chi Minh City, which showcased white goods.

Sources told The Express Tribune that the delegates were optimistic about Pakistan’s fan industry and were willing to penetrate Vietnam’s market to enhance export volume.

The delegates also held business-to-business meetings with other relevant stakeholders and highlighted Pakistan’s engineering capabilities and capacities. The trade delegation had been formed as part of efforts to enhance exports of value-added products from Pakistan.
