KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), while responding to PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari's offer to join the Sindh government, has said that although they were not satisfied with the performance of the federal government, the party will not quit its alliance with the ruling PTI "at the whim of someone".

“We formed an alliance with the federal government for the welfare of the people and not for the ministries," a party statement said on Monday.

The PPP chairman, earlier in the day, offered MQM-P ministries in Sindh in return for its help to oust the ruling PTI government at the Centre.

“The MQM-P should derail the government by ending its alliance with them…We will [PPP] support them fully,” Bilawal had said.

“Instead of offering ministries Bilawal Bhutto should empower the local government system is Sindh,” said the MQM-P spokesperson, urging the PPP to legislate and focus on Karachi's development.

The MQM-P demanded the PPP to transfer the control of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, Karachi Development Authority and Sindh Building Control Authority to the local government of metropolitan city.
