KARACHI:
The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) issued orders on Tuesday to suspend the supply of natural gas to CNG stations across the province due to low gas pressure in the system.

According to the spokespersons of SSGC, the supply of gas to the CNG stations is expected to be restored on Wednesday by 8pm in order to maintain uninterrupted supply for domestic consumers.

The city has been facing a CNG outage for four consecutive days. The SSGC had previously announced to restore the supply on Tuesday, 8pm before extending the outage for another 24 hours.

In Sindh, CNG stations threaten to reopen without permission

Citizens have been facing severe inconvenience in commuting as there is less public transport on the roads while private rickshaw and taxi drivers have increased fares.

The continuous outage of CNG has brought the owners of filling stations at the end of their patience and they have resorted to opening CNG stations against the orders of the SSGC.

On Tuesday, the CNG Dealers Association officials said that they will open the stations if the duration of outage is extended further. It was decided to open the stations on Tuesday 8pm but it couldn’t be implemented.
