Quetta rally backs Musharraf

QUETTA: A rally and public gathering was held in Quetta to show solidarity with the Pakistan Army as well as former army chief and president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf at which tribal and political leaders urged the judiciary to review its decision against the former military chief.

Tribal leaders Musa Jan Achakzai, Manan Achakzai and others at the rally said that the court verdict had brought sorrow to the hearts of his supporters. “Pervez Musharraf’s services for the country and the nation cannot be forgotten”, they said.

The rally began at Quetta Airport Road and marched on various highways. The participants held Pakistani flags and chanted slogans in favour of Pervez Musharraf and the army.

Addressing rally participants, Musa Jan Achakzai said he and other patriots had staged the Airport Road- Zarghoon Road rally to show solidarity with Pervez Musharraf, while the tribal leaders said that, although the former president had defended the country at every stage and was a national hero, he was now regrettably being called a traitor.
