NOWSHERA: A man and woman were killed in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s (K-P) Nowshera district late on Saturday which the police said was a suspected case of ‘honour’ killing.

Akora Khattak police said that a man identified as Ihsanullah, alias Manan, had allegedly killed his sister Adil Zari and her alleged paramour Mir Akbar Shah and dumped their bodies in a roadside ravine in the Mali Khel Bala area of the district.

The accused fled while a first information report (FIR) for a double murder has been registered against Ihsanullah. Police added that Zari, the wife of Faqir Hussain was wanted for the murder of Jameel Shah and has been in hiding for a long time. They added that Ihsanullah had been chasing his sister and her alleged paramour for a while.

The police took the bodies into custody and shifted them to the Nowshera district headquarters hospital (DHQ) for an autopsy while further investigations are underway.
