Senate panel urges two by-passes for Loralai
During the meeting, the NHA informed the committee that the by-pass in Muslim Bagh was in the designing phase
ISLAMABAD:
The Senate Functional Committee on Problems of Less Developed Areas on Friday recommended including the construction of two by-passes in Loralai in next year's Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for smooth flow of traffic.
The recommendation was made during a meeting of the committee held under the chairmanship of Senator Usman Khan Kakar at the Parliament House. It was attended among others by Senators Nighat Mirza, Moulvi Faiz Muhammad, Kulsoom Parveen, Gianchand, Anwar Lal Deen, secretary communications, and representatives from the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the Planning Division.
During the meeting, the NHA informed the committee that the by-pass in Muslim Bagh was in the designing phase and the Ministry of Planning was in a better position to tell if at this stage the realignment, as proposed by the committee, could be carried out or not because that track was longer and would require acquiring more land.
