Veteran actor Zeba Shehnaz's nephew Mohammed Shah Subhani was found dead in the outskirts of London. The 27 year old London resident had gone missing since May this year as reported by the Evening Standard.
Zeba in a video posted by a charity she works for discussed how she had went back and forth between London and Pakistan, upon hearing about her nephew's kidnapping. The actor who is visibly shaken in the video describes her nephew as the gem of the family who took care of his parents. She added how Subhani hadn't been involved in any questionable activities with his only hobby being going to the gym.
On the contrary, the British daily reported that the UK Metropolitan Police had previously linked Subhani with criminal activity, suspecting him of dealing cannabis after losing his job at the courier . According to The Police he may have fallen into debt that resulted in his disappearance.
Zeba however believes otherwise. In the video she noted that it was her nephew that had lent money to a few individuals. She pointed out that the individuals in questions were resisting to pay up. Eventually Subhani was called to collect the money owed to him and failed to return after he went to receive it.
Subhani who is survived by his month-old daughter, went missing three months after his wedding. The 27-year-old's car was found six weeks after his disappearance with bullet holes and false number plates.
So far Seven men and one woman have so far been arrested by UK police in connection to the murder. The men were in ages 19-25. The woman is aged 67 was arrested on Heathrow earlier this week and is believed to have assisted the people involved in evading capture.
“These monsters murdered all his dreams, they murdered his aspirations and along with him they murdered our happiness. No one in this family will ever be happy, celebrate a birthday, Christmas, New Year. My sister cancelled her wedding" said Subhani's sister Qirat to the Evening Standard.
“Someone must know something and help us get justice for Shah. Finally, we want to thank the Metropolitan Police for their hard work” she added.
