Law-enforcers round up suspects in province-wide raids
Robberies, traffic accidents, drug-related arrests keep police busy

Three people were critically injured when a truck hit high tension electrical wires near the Osta Muhammad Bypass, one of whom reportedly succumbed to his injuries.
In another incident in Kohlu district, a clash occurred between two armed groups in a land dispute in which they attacked each other with sticks and stones. As a result, one Haji Hazman Sherani Murree lost his life and several others were injured.
In yet another incident in Qilla Abdullah, armed assailants killed a driver when he resisted their attempt to snatch his rental car and dumped his body in the Shamsozai area of Gulistan before fleeing. Qilla Abdullah Assistant Commissioner Jahanzaib Shaikh told The Express Tribune that investigations had started and the suspects would soon be apprehended.
Police have also arrested 11 suspects and recovered drugs from them.
In a tragic incident, 6-year-old Junaid Khan died after falling into an underground water tank at his home in Dalbandin.
In another traffic accident, two motorcycles collided on Nasirabad Road injuring two people, Asif Jan and Riaz Khan.
In further action by law enforcement, a police team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mudassir Ali and City Police Station House Officer (SHO) Shaukat Jadoon carried out a raid at the Qandhari Bazar on a directive of the City Division Superintendent of Police (SP) Abdullah Jan Afridi. During the operation, police recovered three kilograms of methamphetamine from Bahawal Khan and Ziaullah.
In another operation at Khaidad Road, police recovered a car stolen in Lahore from a suspect.
In further police action, a suspect, Arab Khan, wanted for robbing jewelry worth millions of rupees from a shop on Prince Road, was arrested in Loralai. Police nabbed the suspect on a tip-off and registered separate cases against him and his accomplices.
In other police raids across Quetta, three suspects, including Mukhtar Abdul Rab and Muhammad Jan, were arrested with weapons and drugs.
In addition, a police team led by Noorul Islam arrested a most wanted drug dealer, Khuda Bakhsh aka Khaddo and recovered two kilograms of methamphetamine, 150 grams of a lethal drug and 100 grams of sheesha.
Gadani SHO Rehmatullah Chatha, heading a police team, arrested three suspects wanted in the theft of a motorcycle within the limits of Nabi Bakhsh Police Station in Karachi.
In another robbery incident, a Probox car was snatched at gunpoint and the car driver Ehsanullah kidnapped. He was, however, later released by the robbers.
In yet another incident, a suspicious pickup driver escaped while being chased by Nok Kundi Levies personnel near the Pak-Iran border. Levies recovered drugs worth millions of rupees from the disowned vehicle.
