Dialogue on enhancing skills of English language teachers held

ISLAMABAD: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) held a week-long workshop on enhancing the professional skill of English language teachers.

The workshop had been organised by the university’s department of English Language and Applied Linguistics Department in collaboration with of Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy.

During the workshop, a threadbare discussion was held which saw the participation of heads of regional chapters of Pakistan English Language Teaching (ELT) Forum.

Resource people for the workshop included national and international experts, who covered wide-ranging topics, relating to the field of ELT in Pakistan and abroad.

Prominent participants were Professor Dr Samina Qadir, Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui, Prof Dr Wasima Shahzad and Prof Dr Ayaz Afsar. They spoke about various aspects of the English language and its importance in contemporary learning and teaching practices.
