QUETTA: Provincial Minister for Welfare Population Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran headed the first meeting of the National Task Force that observed various factors to educate people on family planning.

The meeting was held the other day in the provincial capital. The members of the meeting were briefed about compiling the recommendations of Council of Common Interest (CCI).

Provincial Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Population and Welfare department Secretary Manzoor Ahmed Zehri and other officials were present on the occasion.

The meeting decided that awareness would be created in the remote areas of Balochistan and campaigns launched in schools to educate people about the impending hazards of the unbridled population.

Under these campaigns, the staff of Health and Welfare and Population departments would train the NGOs and students of colleges and universities about the administration of contraceptive drugs.

The provincial minister laid stress that it was necessary to take all the stakeholders into confidence for the purpose.

He observed that the role of the Health and Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) was crucial in disseminating information about the control in population growth and that the incumbent government was utilising all resources to devise a comprehensive strategy in this regard.
