Army chief General Qamar Bajwa discussed on Saturday regional security environment with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy supreme commander of United Arab Emirates' armed forces in Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Mohamed is also the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE.

According to ISPR, the military’s media wing, matters of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.



Separately, the UAE Embassy in Pakistan said in a statement that the army chief discussed with the crown prince “the ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries”.



Pakistan has played a pivotal role in helping to train and equip the UAE military, such as training fighter pilots of the UAE air force and other defence-related equipment and technology acquisitions. Both the countries have also conducted joint exercises to boost their capabilities.
