
The FC personnel were returning after offering their prayers when gunmen, who were lying in wait, ambushed them and then fled. The victims were identified as FR constables Mohsin and Yasin.
Separately, at least seven people, including six police officers, were injured when their patrol vehicle came under a grenade attack from unidentified militants in Gomal early on Friday.
Police said that two motorcyclists approached the Gomal police station and lobbed a grenade into the back of a police van. The subsequent explosion left at least six policemen and a passerby injured. The injured included Gomal police station chief Inayatullah Khan.
