ATC adjourns hearing against MQM-P leaders

Petitioner Abdul Ghaffar maintained that he was unwell, requests the ATC to adjourn hearing

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) adjourned on Friday the hearing of two cases against Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders pertaining to hate speech, anti-state slogans, terrorism, and attacks on media houses.

Dr Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan, Kunwar Naveed Jamil, Qamar Mansoor, Shahid Pasha, Gulfaraz Khattak, and other accused appeared before the court.

Petitioner Abdul Ghaffar maintained that he was unwell and requested the ATC to adjourn the hearing. The court accepted the petitioner's request and adjourned the hearing till January 4. The counsels of the accused will cross-examine the petitioner at the next hearing.

According to the police, a man was killed and several others were injured during rioting and vandalism by MQM workers on August 22, 2016.
