Stray dogs

Letter December 14, 2019
The ever-increasing population of stray dogs is posing danger to people both in villages and cities of Sindh

KARACHI: The Defence View area in Karachi faces a grim situation because of stray dogs. Dogs wander about in the area. This is posing danger to people.

Frequently, dogs pursue people and they somehow defend themselves. There is a shortage of anti-rabies vaccines in Sindh and numerous cases of dog- bite have been reported from various parts of the province. Children are most exposed to stray dogs.

We need to take appropriate steps. I urge the authorities concerned to act against the menace.  The ever-increasing population of stray dogs is posing danger to people both in villages and cities of Sindh. If left untreated, dog-bite leads to a painful death. However, poisoning them to death is not the solution. They should be neutered.
