LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has unearthed another mega corruption and money laundering scandal involving Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, claimed Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan during a news conference on Saturday.

“Two officials, including Nisar Ahmad Gill and Ali Ahmad Malik were employed in the CM Secretariat but in reality, they were personal employees of the former ruling family,” he said, adding that the former rulers were using the chief minister’s secretariat as a hub for corruption and money laundering.

“They were involved in money laundering of billions of rupees, which was deposited in fake accounts in the name of poor and later all this looted wealth was transferred to Sharif family’s accounts,” he added.

Chohan further claimed that a company, Good Nature Trading Company, was formed, involving Anwar Ahmad Saroor and Shoaib Kharal to transfer the looted money in bank accounts of Shehbaz Sharif, Nusrat Shehbaz, Hamza Shehbaz and Suleman Shehbaz.

“Shehbaz is continuously telling lies by holding news conferences in London. Instead, he should see David Rose who has written an article about his corruption in the Daily Mail.

“He [Shehbaz] had announced to move the court against the journalist. Now Shehbaz is in London then why is he not suing David,” he questioned. Chohan said David had written that Shehbaz was a ‘coffin thief’, while Nawaz was the ‘head of dacoits’.

The minister said he was ready to pay the lawyer’s fee to sue the British journalist if Shehbaz lacked the resources to move the court.  Responding to a question, Chohan said Nisar Ahmad Gill was in the NAB’s custody and soon more details about his mega corruption would be shared.

“It seems that Sharif brothers have no plan to return. However, whenever they return, they would be arrested.  Their departure from Pakistan was not a result of any deal. The prime minister has given them relief on humanitarian grounds on the recommendation of the courts,” he declared.
