Government allocates Rs100b for ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’

Initiative will create employment opportunities for 68% youth in country

LAHORE: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar said the government has allocated Rs100 billion for issuing soft business loans to the youth under Prime Minister's ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’ during its launch ceremony held at Sialkot Government College for Women University (GCWU) on Saturday.

Addressing the participants, Dar said, “This programme will provide respectable employment opportunities to the 68% youth in the country.”

He added that as many as one million youth have applied for these soft business loans under the Kamyab Jawan Programme.

The special assistant maintained that Rs25 billion business loans would be issued to the businesswomen in the country, by encouraging females’ maximum participation in businesses with new ideas as well.

“The main purpose of this programme is to create maximum job opportunities and ensuring ease of doing business,” he said.

Dar revealed that as many as 1, 90,000 women have applied for getting these business loans with their new business ideas, under the Kamyab Jawan Programme and this larger scale women participation is being encouraged in the country.

On this occasion, while addressing the participants, Punjab Minister for Special Education Ch.Muhammad Ikhlaq added that youth are precious national assets and government is making hectic efforts for their development by initiating several programmes. “It’s for the youth to enable them to come forward and play their pivotal role in national development and to serve the nation and the country in a better way in future as well.”
