Police arrest eight suspects, seize weapons

Possessions included one revolver, two pistols and eight rounds

BAHAWALPUR: The district police claimed to have arrested eight suspects and recovered weapons and cash from their possession.

Following a tip-off, police teams conducted raids in different localities. A police party of PS Civil Lines arrested three gamblers and seized cash from their possession.

The suspects were identified as Aslam, Ansar and Saleem. Police teams of PS Hasilpur, PS Ahmedpur East and PS Noshahrah Jadid conducted raids in localities lying within their jurisdiction and arrested accused who were recognised as Ghulam Abbas, Yousuf and Mazhar.

Police seized weapons from their possession including one revolver, two pistols and eight rounds.

Ahmedpur East police took a suspect into custody. The accused was identified as Ansar. Police seized a pistol and five rounds from the possession of the accused. Further investigation is underway.
