Home teams dominated proceedings at the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL), as KESC defeated PIA 2-0 and Pakistan Police outplayed Pel 1-0 in Quetta.
Mohammad Khan broke the deadlock in the 27th minute, ensuring KESC led at the interval. The hosts continued to dominate, with Mohammad Riaz netting a minute before the final whistle to seal victory.
KESC have had an impressive start to the league, defeating Pakistan Army in their first match before levelling with PAF and Pakistan Navy, before registering a win against PIA.
“It has been a smooth run for us. The important thing is that we are undefeated,” KESC captain Essa Khan told The Express Tribune.
“There is less pressure on us when we are playing in Karachi compared with other places.
“I have heard that a couple of teams are complaining about the weather and pitch here, but I feel that one of the Karachi teams will take the title this year.”
Meanwhile, newcomers Police registered their third victory in the league, with captain Shoaib Khan netting the winner against Pel in the 70th minute.
The result meant Police replace Afghan FC in fourth place in the league, with nine points from four matches. KESC climb to fifth, with eight points, while PIA share second position with NBP and KRL, with 13 points.
