PM Imran satisfied with reforms in PIA
Prime Minister reviews progress on improving facilities at airports

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday expressed satisfaction over the ongoing reforms process in the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and said that the rehabilitation of the national airline and making it a profitable institution were among the priorities of the government.
A meeting chaired by Imran on issues related to the aviation division, deliberated on relevant matters, particularly the benefits of recently introduced reforms in the PIA and better administration of the country's airports.
The meeting was attended by Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar, Maritime Affairs Minister Ali Zaidi, Planning Minister Asad Omar, Adviser on Finance Dr Hafeez Sheikh, special assistants Nadeem Babar and Zulfiqar Bukhari, Board of Investment Chairman Zubair Gillani, Aviation Secretary Shah Rukh Nusrat , PIA Chairman Arshad Mehmood Malik and others.

PIA Chairman Air Marshal Arshad Mahmood briefed the meeting about “the remarkable benefits” of the reforms process.
He said beside an increase of 47 flights, two new aircrafts had been included in the PIA's fleet, adding that a considerable decrease in monthly losses had also been achieved.
The meeting also reviewed progress of implementation of the decisions regarding better administration of the country's airports and provision of international standard facilities to passengers and future policy in that regard.
