KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) directed the sub-inspector of Special Investigation Unit to personally appear with a report regarding a young man who is allegedly illegally confined at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) unit in Saddar. Petitioners, Suleman and his wife Sarwat, moved the SHC for seeking whereabouts of their son Dawood, who was allegedly taken away by police at the behest of his maternal uncle. The couple claimed that Kamran Akhtar, a former Baldia Town Nazim, with his aides, came to their house on April 2, and apprehended Dawood for allegedly embezzling Rs240,000. They said that he was forcibly taken away by four or five CIA men in plain clothes. The SHC division bench directed sub-inspector police Munir Ahmed to appear in court with all the information regarding Dawood’s abduction.
