QUETTA: The Balochistan chief minister’s aide on livestock has said the government would construct many small and large dams in Zhob district to overcome the problem of water shortage.

“Many schemes have been approved in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for a long-term solution to the issue of water scarcity in Zhob,” Adviser to Chief Minister Mitha Khan Kakar said while addressing a public gathering in Killi Gosa Kibzai Shamzai area of Zhob district.

“We are aware that Zhob has been facing a drought for many years," he added.

Kakar said he was reaching out to the public to find out about their problems so that the process of development in each area and the provision of resources could take place according to its needs.

“There are a lot of problems and the government’s resources are scarce, but I assure you that all promises made before the elections will be fulfilled.” He maintained.

"Despite a shortage of funds, the healthcare and education sectors have been improved.”

The provincial adviser asked the people for support, saying that by working together for the development of the area, education and employment for the youth and basic facilities for everyone could become a reality.

“Our priority is to address the problems of the people according to their desires,” he said.

"Our government has promised to resolve the grievances of the people.”

Kakar claimed that the previous governments had done nothing for the people of Balochistan and that was the reason for the challenges being faced now.
