The federal minister was presiding over the first meeting of the board of directors of Public-Private Partnership Authority, which was attended by Planning Commission deputy chairman and Asian Development Bank (ADB’s) country director.
The meeting reviewed the formation of the public-private partnership rules under the Public-Private Authority Act.
NA Communications Subcommittee reviews NHA projects
The minister stressed on the need for urgent finalisation of the rules.
NHA briefed the authority on the commercial feasibility of Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway.
The board called for early completion of the feasibility for prompt initiation of the project.
Speaking on the occasion, the planning minister said that there was a great potential in the public-private partnership which needed to be utilised.
He added that the government wanted to invest in the private sector infrastructure so that the financing gap could be bridged.
