Suicides: Sargodha’s Romeo & Juliet

SARGODHA: A girl committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills on Friday. According to police officials, Chak No 25-NB resident Fayyaz Bibi was engaged to her relative Irfan. After a year, her brother Iftikhar called off the engagement and was forcing her to marry one of his friends. After repeatedly refusing the match, Fayyaz Bibi swallowed poison pills on Friday morning. Her fiance also swallowed poison and both of them were shifted to a local hospital. The doctors referred them both to Allied Hospital Faisalabad, where Fayyaz Bibi died while the condition of her fiance is still critical. Police have handed over the body to the family after a postmortem.
