Now, we all know Armeena Rana Khan isn't one to shy away from voicing her opinions. The Janaan actor is has, in fact, garnered quite a reputation for being outspoken  about the many social issues that plague Pakistani society, often writing about them on her social media and calling for change.

This time, Khan has voiced her contempt towards the rape and murder of four-year-old Jannat from Mansehra. The Pakistani-Canadian beauty took to Instagram to call out the incident and question how many for such cases it will take for substantial action to be taken against rape in Pakistan.

"Meet Jannat (meaning heaven), a four-year-old brutally raped by God knows how many men. She was then thrown down a well (80ft) a few miles away from her village near Mansehra," Khan began. "Jannat survived for four days, shivering and starving. Eventually, they found her and rushed her to the hospital but the little angel finally succumbed to her injuries as the facilities just weren’t there and the staff was unhelpful," she added.

Khan, evidently upset, went on to recall two other similar incidents that happened recently, namely those of eight-year-old Zainab from Kasur and Nimrita. "My question is THIS! How many more Zainabs, Jannats and Nimritas is it going to take before our collective conscience is roused from its slumber" she wrote. "This could’ve been your kid! I don’t know how many times my heart’s going to break. I ask again, where is our shame? Our ghairat? Those in charge, please do something! Fund the hospitals, tighten the laws and put these disgusting criminals behind bars!"

She continued, "For the rest of us, we should raise our voices and stop violence against children. We need justice for this little kid now! What was her fault? God knows. Each time I look at this picture, it destroys my soul! May little Jannat rest in jannat!"

'When a victim is not believed, rape culture flourishes'

Khan concluded her post with a heart emoji and the hashtags  #JusticeforJannat #RIP #StopViolenceAgainstChildren #StopRape.

There are conflicting versions of what exactly happened to Jannat, the gravest one being that Jannat had been abducted, raped and left to die inside the well.

The local police has detained a number of people in connection with the Jannat's alleged murder but didn’t mention pressing any charges against one of them. There had been some difficulties with conducting a post mortem at the local hospital too.
