Russian movie ‘Barber of Siberia’ screened

ISLAMABAD: As part of Islamabad Art Festival 2019, the Russian Embassy on Monday organised the screening of a classic Russian movie, ‘Barber of Siberia’.

The movie was screened at the auditorium of the Islamabad Club with English subtitles.

Produced in 1999, this is the first time it was being screened in the country.

Earlier, Russian Ambassador Danila Ganich welcomed guests and talked about the movie and read out the message from its director.

Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) Director General Jamal Shah along with a large number of people from various walks of life watched the movie, a tale of two men on opposite ends contesting for the love of a woman.

Jane Callahan (played by Julia Ormand) is a beautiful American lady. She writes to her son, a cadet at a famous military academy, about a long-kept secret.
