SWAT: Civil work on building the Chakdara to Maidan section of the Swat Motorway will commence soon while a host of other projects are near completion.

This was stated by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Saturday while inaugurating a Mobile Health Services Unit and a project to upgrade and rehabilitate the civil hospital in Kabal.

Addressing the inauguration ceremonies, Mahmood said that the incumbent provincial government is committed to taking pragmatic steps for the development and prosperity of the entire province, including Malakand Division.  He added that the development of backward districts of the province was a priority for the provincial government.

“I am the chief minister of the entire province and representing the entire province,” he said.

He also paid tribute to the resilience shown by the locals, noting that the people played a vital role in restoring peace in the province.

Mahmood also took a swipe at the opposition parties, stating that Prime Minister Imran Khan had put an end to the politics of those parties.

“We have made ourselves accountable before the public and laws [for the purpose] have been made in the province. We intend to facilitate and give relief to the common public and we will succeed.”

The chief minister further said that they are working on establishing agriculture and engineering university apart from a children’s hospital in Swat to improve the provision of health services to the people of the area.

Noting that work on Swat Expressway will be completed soon, he hoped that the motorway will help promote tourism in the scenic valley. Further, he said that work on a boundary wall and runway of Saidu Sharif Airport has been completed that soon, the airport will start receiving flights, and with it, hopefully, tourists and investors.

Addressing the function, Mahmood further said that upgrading the civil hospital in Kabal will improve the provision of health facilities to locals.

Federal Communications Minister Murad Saeed stated that they are aiming to provide basic services to the people apart from resolving their issues at their doorsteps.
