Bilawal seeks details on progress in development schemes

Sindh Information, Archives and Labour Minister Saeed Ghani has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has sought details of the progress of projects being overseen by the Department of Public Health Engineering and the Department of Local Government.

Ghani said this while talking to media persons on Tuesday.

The information minister said that the PPP chairperson had sought the details during a core committee meeting of the party, where he also asked for details of ongoing development projects in Karachi as well as those pertaining to social security. In addition, Bilawal inquired about the losses and casualties caused by the recent rains in Tharparkar, he added.

According to Ghani, the chairperson directed that the citizens be provided complete access to facilities constructed as part of the development projects and be informed of the Sindh government's initiatives taken for their benefit.

The provincial minister said that the PPP chairman expressed displeasure over the poor performance of some of the ministers and instructed all the ministers, as well as special assistants and advisers, to improve their performances.

Moreover, Ghani criticised the federal government for neglecting Karachi, claiming that not a single penny has been released for the city's development from the promised Rs162 billion by the Centre.
