DG ISI Lt Gen Faiz Hameed called on PM Imran Khan at the Prime Minister's Office in Islamabad, according an official statement on Tuesday.

The communique said that "matters pertaining to national security were discussed during the meeting".

The meeting comes a day after Pakistan Army's chief spokesperson refuted claims of an alleged divide between the country’s civilian and military leadership, reiterating that both sides were on the same page.

DG ISPR shoots down talk of civil-military divide

“This is baseless gossip. There is absolutely nothing of the sort,” DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor was quoted as saying.

Lt Gen Hameed was given the charge of the country’s premier spy agency earlier this year.
