Postal service to India restored 

Pakistanis has stressed that contact with their relatives in India be restored through postal service

In a bid to reestablish contact between the Pakistanis and their relatives living in India, the government has restored postal service to India after a suspension of 3 months and 13 days.

A formal circular of the Pakistan Post had been sent to all the post offices of the country.


General Post Office (GPO) Rawalpindi told The Express Tribune that Pakistanis will be able to send letters, registries and express letters to India but transportation of parcels and other goods will not be allowed.

Pakistanis had stressed that contact with their relatives in India be restored through postal service.

The administration of GPO Rawalpindi told The Express Tribune that after the reinstatement of the service more than 100 letters had been received in a single day, which would be dispatched to India by Monday evening.
