A police spokesperson on Sunday said that CPO Rana held a meeting of Divisional SPs in Rawalpindi on Sunday.
“Kite flying and selling are crimes which result in the loss of life,” he said.
Rana directed to take strict and aggressive action against the kite flying in the city, adding that no one will be allowed to violate the law.
The CPO said that SDPOs, SHOs and beat officers will be held responsible if the ban on kite flying and selling is violated in any area.
He added that the SHO will be immediately removed from his post if any life is lost because of kite flying, while the SDPO will also have to face stern departmental action. To curb kite flying, the CPO said that it is imperative to control the sale of kites and metal strings for which an aggressive operation based on authentic information must be launched in the city according to a comprehensive strategy.
