Youth entrepreneurship scheme

Due to the banks’ delay in verification process, a large number of unemployed youth is being deprived of this scheme

HYDERABAD: The Prime Minister’s Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme was launched under Kamyab Jawan Programme to provide self-employment opportunities to the unemployed youth across the country. Wanting to avail this opportunity, thousands of unemployed people had already submitted online applications in October.

Although about one month has passed since the online registration, the banks concerned have failed to give response to the beneficiaries on time for furthering the procedure.

Due to the banks’ failure and delay in the verification process, a large number of unemployed youth is being deprived of this scheme. Moreover, uncertainties over the Youth Programme are rising.

There is a dire need to reduce unemployment in the country as it is estimated that only 39 per cent of the country’s youth is employed while 61 per cent is deprived of employment.

The adviser to the prime minister for Kamyab Jawan Programme must look into this matter and ask the banks concerned to complete the furthering process without any delay.
