The employees would also leave their thumb impression on the biometric machine while entering and exiting the workshop. This practice will speed up the productivity of the workshop and employees’ performance will improve. Divisional Superintendent said all workshops will soon have biometric machines installed which will positively impact the future.
The bio-data of all the working hours of all the employees, working in all four workshops, will be made available through the automatic biometric machine. “Employees will now get salaries as per the attendance on the biometric machine,” said Raja.
According to details, 8,062 employees working in all four workshops of the locomotive shop, steel shop, signals shop and carriage shop of Railway Mughalpura will be shifted to Biometric attendance system. Due to this, the employees of the four workshops will mark their attendance via a thumb impression on Biometric after arriving at 7am and also while leaving the workshop in the evening.
Sources added that if any employee will not complete his shift of 8 hours then he will not be eligible to get complete payment for the month. The installation of biometric machines in all four workshops will not only improve the working speed of employees during workshop hours, but will also improve productivity.
